Lens -is a lens system for projecting an image of an object under observation at photosensitive element webcam.

Lenses are characterized by the following parameters:

1. The format of the lens - this is, indeed, the symbol of the size of CCD-matrix video cameras with which this lens is intended to work. In other words, the format - is the approximate length in inches of the diameter focused on the plane image. Naturally, this rectangle is nothing but surface CCD matrix.

One of the requirements of the constructive lens compatibility and camcorders is that of their formats. Note that the possible option of using larger lens, a video camera installed in the smaller format (but not vice versa, otherwise the on-screen video can appear on the edges of the screen darkening). Advantages of these installations are such that in this case used in the central part of the lens, where the quality of surface treatment is better than at the periphery, thus resolving power is higher. The disadvantage is in decreasing the lens aperture, as used effectively narrows the diameter of the lens.

Focal length in mm determines the angle cameras in general (long focal length, the lower angle and the object appears larger observation). Note that the angle cameras horizontally substantially wider viewing angle vertically, that should be taken into account when analyzing "dead zone" under the video camera.

The choice of lens focal length is made on the basis of the requirements, for example, the necessary angle or reviews that virtually the same distance to the object of observation and horizontal or vertical field of view. Obviously, this definition should be preceded by the required number and type of webcams that provide a minimum of the so-called "dead zones" in the lowest mutual overlap working areas.
