As Webcam image is not static, you must take into account another important value - the refresh skills. You, of course, remember that it should be not less than 24 frames per second. So, on customary, modem connection, even with a tiny picture 150x200 pixels you won’t get the desired 24 frames (really - from 10 to 20). And consequently, juddering effects and delays are inevitable ... But don’t worry - alternative ways of connection to the Internet try to push their way and, perhaps, in a year or so you will be able to enjoy a decent quality of image size in at least a quarter of the screen.

In the meantime, pay attention to other indicators of webcam - a reaction to different lighting conditions, the availability or additional built-in microphone, USB-length connecting cord, the ability of the webcam work "in conjunction" with popular programs for voice and video communication (for example, Microsoft NetMeeting). And, of course, at maximum resolution: although the picture quality 640x480 pixels has long become standard in the market where there are models with a lower threshold permission (many cameras costing up to $ 50 only provide permission to 352x288 pixels).
